We thoroughly enjoyed the Sound of Music tour. Not only did our tour guide know about the production of the movie, but he also had a thorough knowledge of real von Trapp story and could sing and make us laugh.
It was a great way to and learn about some of the landmarks of Salzburg and the nearby lakes and villages. Oh what a beautiful country. It is so different from our Italian experience.
Will have to see the movie again, now that we have seen Salzburg. Here are a few shots.
You are sixteen, going on seventeen....
Rob is walking down the aisle where the Maria walked in the movie. It's a very pretty church.
After our return to Salzburg, we wandered through Old Salzburg town. One thing that fascinated me were the many little dome shaped arcades that connect the cobbled stone walkways (probably horse and carriage roadways originally).
Mozarts's house and the museum inside it were other highlights of our day. Here is his kitchen.
When we came out of Mozart's house, it was raining heavily again, just like last night, so we decided we needed to go back to our favourite restaurant to have happy hour while studying our map and list of special places to find. It was necessary to try Schnapps.
