Hop on/off Vienna & Konzerte im Mozarthaus.

The easiest and most efficient way to get an overview of a city is to indulge in a hop on/ hop off bus. Armed with an English commentary by earphones, we first toured the Ringstrasse or Ring Road, which originally was a ring stone wall. 
There are so many magnificent old buildings and sculptures. Here are a few:

After lunch (properly made pizzas, not like the sparse Italian ones!), we changed Hop on Hop Off bus lines and headed out of town to Karlenberg, where the views of vineyards and back to Vienna were beautiful and a change from the city.

On the way back we called at Klosterneuburg, an abbey. We were told that when there was a shortage of water to put out fires, the monks put out the fires with wine. When the Turks invaded (17th century I think), the monks gave the local people wine which made them fight harder, and therefore the Turks lost.

Finally, we ate a Turkish dinner and went to Konzerte im Mozarthaus. Here's my photo of Sala Terrina, Vienna' oldest concert hall.

Mozart lived in a room in this building for a short time when he was 20, while was working for a bishop. He played in the Sala Terrina. It was a beautiful concert.
We also saw that there is another house in Vienna claiming to be Mozart's house, but as we have already explored Salzburg's Mozart House and museum, we decided to give this one a miss.
