When we called in at the Nakatsue Gold mine's museum and shop this morning, we saw Sakamoto San. Keith and I attended his mayoral election party in 2004. This man is famous for his work in attracting the Cameroon soccer team to practise in Nakatsue when the World Soccer was being held in Japan & Korea. He has done a lot of wonderful things in this area and is a very friendly gentleman. He always remembers me and asks after Keith.
After that, we drove to Yanagawa, where we took over an hour's ride in a Japanese style narrow boat, which travelled on the former moat of the residence of Tachibana clan. One of the descendants of this family was a student in Australia in 1962 with Toshiko.
The helmsman ducked down low as we went under a bridge and sometimes sang traditional Japanese songs as we passed under.
