So, first up was Harlech Castle - note the 'Women of Harlech" photo. The castle is on a great site, with great views to the water. We didn't go inside as we were short of time and had decided to go in at Caernarfon Castle instead.
Then up north through the Snowdonias to Caernarfon (2nd photo). We climbed up and down stairs, stared down the deep empty well and imagined what went on here many years ago. We read some of the history but I am afraid it is too tedious and just too much detail for my brain to sort, so I won't try to tell you any. Ask Keith if you need to know!We had lunch in the village and headed for Wrexham or as they spell it in Wales, Wrecsam. The views of the Snowdonia Mountains from the Llanberis Pass was fantastic. The one photo I have put here doesn't do the scenery justice.
When we goth down the mountains we were confronted by a huge traffic jam and we were concerned that we would miss our bus from Wrecsam to Llangollen, so we headed for the Welsh country lanes.
Well that was a thrill a minute. The narrow lanes were edged with hedges so we were very lucky that nothing came the other way. We made it to Wrecsam without a mishap and in time for the bus.
