Farmers' Market and the Cliff Railway

Today is fine, but oh so windy and chilly. First up this morning was a walk into the Farmers' Market. We saw the signs when we were catching the Rheidol train the other day, but we couldn't remember exactly where. So we walked around till we found it. We bought some spinach for our omelette planned for tonight's dinner. I didn't buy any of their beautiful silver Celtic jewellery.

Next up, coffee of course, at the "only decent coffee shop". Sam is the manager who knows our twice daily order. Then, fortified, we headed towards the Cliff Railway. It was blowing a gale.

"The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway was opened on 1 August 1896. It is a 778 feet (237m) long funicular railway, and is the second longest funicular railway in the British Isles." https://www.aberystwythcliffrailway.co.uk/about-us

It also houses a re-creation of the original "camera obscura".

"The first camera obscura was built in Aberystwyth in 1880, in the castle grounds at the opposite end of the promenade. Later re-located to Constitution Hill for a better viewpoint by the 1920’s, it had sadly gone – a casualty of the public’s changing entertainment needs."

On the way up.
