Shikoku Day 1

We walked 11 kms today and my pedometer says we went up 20 floors, whatever that means. We are staying at Temple 75, Zentsuji, tonight. It is a “shukubou”, and quite like a ryokan. We have one tatami bedroom for the three of us. We have had a bath in an onsen and a very nice meal. Now we are resting in our room. Lights go out at 9pm.
The most impressive temples today were the first, Iyadaniji and the last. Iyadaniji was very high in the mountain. We climbed nearly 600 steps and came down through the forest.
We were really hanging out for some lunch when we came across a little udon shop, only to be told it was only for real pilgrims, ones with white coats and pointy straw hats. Much later, very hungry and very tired, we found a really good one.
So here are some photos of our day.
