Imagining

The building I live in was the local primary school until 1995. As in Australia, when populations of children decrease in an area, governments close schools. The children are all now at what was the high school, but is now something like our “central school”.
Today I walked up the hill to see what used to be the school’s playground. I stood there imagining the children all playing. An empty playground is a bit sad to me.

This is the school building from the playground.

Opposite the school is a mural, which depicts the 4 seasons of the school year, as well as a child’s school life - the family bringing the new child to school and the crying child leaving school. Sadly there is mould on the pictures.

And then I went walking along the road and came across this, my first snake.
