Visiting Akiko at Usa (not USA).

I travelled to Hita - one hour by car. Then a bus took me to Nakatsu where Akiko met me and drove me to her city which is Usa. It is under the grey arrow on the map.

After a restaurant lunch, we went to a tea farm that had beautiful gardens. I am very impressed with the varieties of hydrangeas in Japan. If you zoom in you will see what I mean.

My first experience at “Joyfull” (not a spelling mistake). It is a Family Restaurant/ a chain one.

L- R Daiki, Issey, Akiko and Ken-shin

I just had to add a bit about my hotel. The room doesn’t have a shower - instead I have access to the communal baths. Wow, how luxurious. There were 4 tubs/pools - each slightly different temperatures from warm to very hot and varying types - still, slightly bubbly and delightfully strong bubbles. I was the only one there, so I went from one to the other until I started to shrivel up. I weighed myself and found I hadn’t put on any weight since being in Japan.
Stay tuned for the next blog - a tea ceremony lesson and a kimono, I’m told.
