On our way to Kumamoto Airport, Toshiko took us to view Mt Aso volcano. The old, main crater is immense and there is one live crater - Nakadake. Keith and I were able to go all the way up to the crater in 2004. It erupted in 2016 but has been open for a while again now. However, it is often closed because of dangerous gases. Today we drove around the large old crater and viewed the Nakadake from afar. The latter is to the right of Kaye, with the former between Kaye and the Nakadake.
This one most looks like a volcano, but it is not active.

After this excitement, we had lunch at the airport and bid Kaye a very teary farewell. We have lots of memories to cherish.
