Yesterday, we said goodbye to this lovely man. The funeral in his home began with with Brahms and ended triumphantly with Berlioz’ Requiem. The coffin was decorated with tickets from worldwide travels and concerts, maps and artwork. Within the service were spoken tributes, poems by Shirley, and I played Mozart’s Wiegenlied from the mezzanine floor on Norm’s own rich tenor recorder.
It was a memorable day, and I felt privileged to be included in the family.
