Keith had an operation yesterday evening to clean out his infected hip, and replace the ball with a temporary one called a spacer. This spacer is loaded with antibiotics. When they are certain the infection is clear, they will operate again and put in a permanent hip.
The anaesthetist called me last night because “Keith needs a familiar face”.
While I was there, apart from needing medication for an irregular heart beat (not unusual for him), he was pretty normal for someone coming out of anaesthetic.
So pleased to hear that everything went well yesterday afternoon, Wyverne. I wish I could be there to provide some more practical help!
