Today’s Visit

Although I was told by the nurse that Keith’s “vitals” are all good, I thought he looked sick when I visited today. Up to today, he had looked much better, fuller in the face and a good colour. This morning this was not the case. 

I talked to the nurse and she said she would write my thoughts on his record and that Dr Yu (his rehab doctor) would visit tomorrow. 

Dr Yu had told Keith to take Sustagen but since there is some controversy about the wisdom of that except if the patient can’t eat, I’m taking him extra stuff including powdered milk to add to his meals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, nuts etc. He’s eating well now too. 

He has lost a few more kilos but the nurse said not to worry about that as sometimes be weighed was at different times in different clothes. Now they will weigh twice a week on the same days, before breakfast and in the same type of clothes. 

Sorry if I’m boring you with all this, but I wanted to log my observation and mainly keep the kids informed. 

I’ll go in again on Tuesday and Wednesday, but no doubt there will be phone calls tomorrow.
