Today I had a large morning tea with my friend Sepalika at the Tanglin Club. Like Salbia, Sepalika has been a good friend since my first trip here in 2002. We are growing old together. Sepalika doesn't do a great deal of teaching any more although she still has her language school. She spends time with grandchildren and plays darts! She had to show me her "life's achievements". Her doctorate and published books fade into insignificance with her name engraved on the wall of this formerly British colonial club forever.
