Skydancer on Hawkesbury

Last week we had a wonderful week on board the "Skydancer".  With friends, Jim and Irene, and Grant and Jan, we explored the Hawkesbury River. It was relaxing and so good to enjoy the company of "old" friends.
A few fish were caught, but Jim and Grant had planned on many more seafood dinners so were a little disappointed.
I was surprised to see how unspoiled this bushland is, while so close to Sydney. Keith and I hadn't been on a boat on this river since the 1960's and I don't think it has changed. How wonderful that fancy houses have not been built on the shores. It felt like we were in the convict and explorer era as we clambered from the dinghy over rocks to find a path.

There were even native orchids hanging from the rocks above our dinghy.

We celebrated Keith's 83rd birthday on board and also had our own "Don's Party" around a "staticky" radio, both on September 7. We didn't know then than Sophie Mirabella was looking like losing her seat to our Cathy. well, we still don't know yet, but at last check, Cathy is still ahead. Woo Hoo!

Thanks to our lovely friends for a memorable and once in a life time holiday.
