Premier Dan has declared our state a disaster. The numbers of Covid cases remain high (500-700 daily), but the main reason for this declaration and the restrictions is that about 700 cases are “mystery” - they cannot find where the people got the disease. This means that there is unknown community transmission.
Melbourne has gone into Stage 4, with severe restrictions. In regional Victoria we only have Stage 3 restrictions, no night curfew but we must wear masks and we can only go out for essential services. Schools are closed.
I was pretty upset about the masks, but after finding a YouTube video on foggy glasses, I put a strip of folded tissue on my nose and used a scarf as a mask. I went for a walk to test it. Hey presto, no foggy glasses. I’m waiting for some proper cloth masks to arrive.
However, because of our ages and Keith’s vulnerability, we will stay at home and order our delivered groceries online.
Keith is saying he “needs to go to Yackandandah to buy a cucumber”. I hope he can do without a cucumber!
Just caught up with latest posts Wyverne. I loved seeing all the photos in QLD but would love more of your thoughts and feelings as you have done in the latest posts. xxx
