We (Al, Scott, Lucy, Molly and I) spent a few days at Bali. We stayed in a villa at Ubud. We explored the village although it was difficult with a stroller as the paths were "bumpy" and the narrow road was filled with noisy motorbikes and cars. We visited "Monkey Forest" and swam in our own little pool. We had a day tour with our very own driver, Agun, in the morning, to Sanur Beach, where Lucy and Scott had a very long swim and then in the afternoon, to Jatiluwih. Alison asked for us to be taken away from motorbikes, to see rice fields and countryside. We had a such a wonderful tour and Agun was so caring of us , especially the children. On our way home Agun took us to a traditional concert at Batubulari. When it rained, Agun provided the umbrella, when getting from one place to another, he carried the children, when we were having a cup of tea, he took Lucy for a walk. Lucy remarked on the last day that she "loved Agun and would miss him when we went home".
My overall impression of Bali was that it would have been better without all the other people and without motorbikes. I loved the design/art/architecture, the green fields and rainforests. I wish I had gone there earlier in my life.
